Been a while since posting…
This is one SWEET rig for filming with a DSLR. Down to the broadcast viewfinder and everything… Wish it were my own!

To show I’m not totally on the Canon bandwagon, here’s an amazing music video that a man named Allan on vimeo.com posted, which was shot with the Nikon D90.
Great stuff!

Another bit about the 5D Mk II… a camera that I would really love to have. Fantastic for convergence of stills and video.
This bit is via the always fantastic work of Philip Bloom (philipbloom.co.uk). It’s a simple piece, but just the pure look of the stuff shot on this camera is astounding.

First post of something actually interesting…

For all those Canon 5D Mk II owners (of which I am very envious, and sometimes wish I’d purchased it instead of my Nikon d80…), here’s an awesome little bit of news…
Anyone who has actually used this camera for video purposes knows how much it was originally crippled, but how much potential it had. And still has. The recent firmware update that adds the much needed ability to have manual controls over a variety of features during recording, is now coupled by a “hack” of sorts that adds even more functionality.

This little bit of software helps in numerous ways, but most noticably will disable AGC!!! Crop markers are also a definite plus! Maybe they can make it do 24p?
